Laura Schlenke
User Researcher
Laura’s driven by her passion to combine interpersonal communication, usability and human advocacy in order to assist diverse populations. She specializes in assessing user needs and developing effective collaborative technologies. Laura recently graduated from the University of Washington with a Master of Science in Human Centered Design & Engineering while also concurrently earning two separate graduate certificates in Usability and Global Health. Recent fieldwork led her to Uganda to assist in testing a portable ultrasound device with midwives in rural communities. You can see how Laura brings together her interests of usability and Global Health at Seattle’s Pacific Science Center where she is a Science Communication Fellow and recently created an exhibit that looks at the usability of bed nets in malaria-proned environments.
When Laura isn’t out making the world a better place, you can find her at the AT offices living up to her nickname of the “ginger ninja”, or perfecting her chocolate-chip cookie recipe.
